The Interdisciplinary Art AB degree is only offered at the undergraduate level. Students pursuing the degree understand the non-verbal language of art and design in terms of artistic principles and application, can organize visual elements both rationally and intuitively according to understood artistic principles and are familiar with the major achievements in the history of art and visual culture.

School of Art graduate students Kendra Macomber and Katherine Miller recieved Willson Center for Humanities & Arts grants for travel and research this fall. The Willson Center Graduate Research Awards are merit-based grants given to University of Georgia graduate students to support expenses for arts and humanities research projects.

In November the American Craft Council published the second issue of American Craft Inquiry (ACI), a publication committed to presenting broad research to cultivate discussion and advocate for craft as an important economic, educational, and cultural resource. Dodd Assistant Professor of Graphic Design Moon Jung Jang is the creative director and designer for this new journal, including the newest issue published this November.

Congratulations to alumna Linnea West, who was recently promoted to Coordinator of the Contemporary & Modern Art Perspectives (C-MAP) Program at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. West graduated from the Lamar Dodd School of Art in 2015 with a Master of Art Degree in Art History with Distinction.

Dodd Lecturer Eileen Wallace led a studio class/lab session with undergraduate students from the Anthropology Department in Julie Velásquez Runk's Ethnobotany class. Students learned about the fibers used in handmade paper, how the fibers are processed and had the hands-on experience of making paper.

Eileen Wallace is a Lecturer in Printmaking and Book Arts at the University of Georgia.
