
Callan Steinmann holds an undergraduate degree in studio art and psychology from the University of Georgia. After teaching in elementary classrooms in Athens and abroad, she earned her M.A. in Art Education from the University of Texas at Austin, where her studies focused on art museum education. After finishing her masters degree, Steinmann returned to Athens where she has held the position of Associate Curator of Education at the Georgia Museum of Art since 2013. Steinmann earned her PhD in Art Education from the University of Georgia in 2017. Her doctoral research examined the museum as a site for creative exploration, focusing on the experiences of visitors who engaged in focus studio practice in response to works in a museum collection.
