We Have So Much To Talk About

Read more about We Have So Much To Talk About

We Have So Much to Talk About explores the importance of transparency in communication and the accessibility of information. Sarah Kennedy and Trent Johnson, both undergraduate students in Printmaking and Book Arts at the Dodd, present a series of collaborative prints, sculptures, and videos.

Printmaking is a foundation of the show due to its historical precedent as a means of sharing information. The exploration of different materials, and how they interact with print as a medium, creates a dialogue on how ideas are shared, translated, and understood.

Oscillations

Read more about Oscillations

An oscilloscope without input generates a flat line. When a simple waveform is amplified, a flat line becomes animated. When a simple waveform is modulated by another, and another... a flat line can take on the limitless possibilities of pattern, shape, and texture.

Oscillations is a solo exhibition featuring a new body of work by artist Jon Vogt.

John Freyer Visits the Dodd Bringing Social Practice and Fresh Hot Coffee

Read more about John Freyer Visits the Dodd Bringing Social Practice and Fresh Hot Coffee

"John Freyer wants to speak with you...over a jar of water, a cup of coffee, or a plate of spaghetti. And whether or not you are aware of it (it’s fine with him either way), he regards your time together as both an offering and an artwork. Freyer’s particular blending of conversation and small acts of kindness might seem like a curious approach to art-making, but it is rooted in several traditions, drawn from inside and outside of contemporary art.”  —Lauren Ross, Curator
