The Wild Treasury of Nature: A Portrait of Little St. Simons Island: Philip Juras will explore the rich history and nature that have compelled him to paint the wilds of Little St. Simons Island, share some of the experiences he had in creating the work over the last five years, and show how he painted one of the key works presented in the exhibition.

Richard T. Scott '05 graduated with his BFA in Painting from Lamar Dodd School of Art. Working as a figurative painter and writer in New York and Paris, Richard's "When the Man Comes Around" was acquired by the Georgia Museum of Art for their permanent collection.

The Lamar Dodd School of Art and the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences are pleased to announce that Paul Pfeiffer’s term at the Lamar Dodd Professorial Chair has been extended through 2018. 

Rose Bloomberg, BFA 2014, is a Project Manager working in New York for Smart Design. She will be featured in the student-centered alumni speaker series "Dodd Dialogues" on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

Jack Davis, perhaps best known for his depictions of Southeastern Conference mascots that have appeared on UGA merchandise for many years, died Wednesday at the age of 91. One of the founding editors of Mad Magazine, Davis had an immediately recognizable style and an influence that extends far beyond Georgia.

Studio jeweler and visual artist Demitra Thomloudis joins the faculty at the Dodd this fall as Assistant Professor in the Jewelry and Metalwork area. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she received her MFA from San Diego State University and her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
