Emerging Artist Lecture Series

Please join us for a series of artist talks by emerging artists working in painting, sculpture, fabric design, scientific illustration, ceramics, and photography.  These 30 minute talks will take place in N104 on Thursday evenings in March and April 2016.  The lectures are free and open to the public.

Archive Fever

ARCHIVE FEVER is a new program at the Dodd Galleries that explores research and visual culture. Part Pechu-Kucha, part image round-robin, 4 students, faculty, and visiting artists will be asked to present 10-15 slides that inform their perceptual, emotional, and intellectual archive. 

This round features MA candidate in art history Claire Dempster; MFA candidate in Book Arts & Printmaking Aaron Foster; BFA candidate in Book Arts & Printmaking Anthony Gaskins; and Associate Professor in Jewelry and Metals Mary Hallam Pearse.

Art History Students Present at Georgia Undergraduate Art History Symposium

On Friday March 4, Dr Janice Simon and three undergraduate art history students, Caroline Harvey, Carlisle Kramer, and Madelaine Bates, traveled to Wesleyan College in Macon GA to present their original research at the annual Georgia Undergraduate Art History Symposium. Harvey discussed the photographer Gordon Parks, while Kramer and Bates each presented on Roman sculptures from the North Carolina Museum of art that they had researched in Dr Mark Abbe's senior seminar.
