Here, Say

Read more about Here, Say

Here, Say is a new sculptural installation by Dodd post-MFA fellow in sculpture, Courtney McClellan. The installation, comprised of made and found objects, recreates a courtroom. With absurdity and poetry, the judicial system and its players are recast. Witness, defendant, plaintiff, judge, and jury conflate seeing and speaking, hearing and being seen. In this space theories are performed, arguments are made. Located at an entrance of the Lamar Dodd School of Art, the work invites practice, play and judgment.

Paul Pfeiffer: Desiderata

Read more about Paul Pfeiffer: Desiderata

Dodd Professorial Chair, Paul Pfeiffer, presents three major video works: Desiderata, Fragment of a Crucifixion, and Pure Products Go Crazy. Best known for digitally manipulated images of athletes and celebrities, Pfeiffer’s celebrated work in the mediums of installation, photography, and video typically uses extant imagery as an occasion to plumb the depths of contemporary culture, assessing its racial, religious, and technological dimensions.

Singularity

Just  outside Gallery 101 in the Atrium, Post-MFA Fellow in Sculpture, Kevin Varney will exhibit a kinetic light installation. Through the use of artificial light phenomena, this exhibition places scientific theory and transcendental beliefs within arms length of one another. A space is created, in which artifice and artifact propel curiosity for, and perhaps experience of, the paraphysical.
