Beth Cavener

Beth Cavener

The daughter of a molecular biologist and art teacher, Beth Cavener has pursued the connections between art and science throughout her career. She received her MFA in ceramics from Ohio State University, was a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation for two years, and had a recent solo exhibition the Huntington Museum of Art, in Huntington, WV.

Cavener’s figurative sculpture addresses controversial and potentially embarrassing subject matter head on in her work while emphasizing the primitive and raw characteristics of her chosen medium, clay.
