For over a century the University of Georgia has provided students with opportunities to study craft, offering instruction particularly in textiles, metalwork and ceramics.

The #bullyculture series by Katy Kretz (MFA '94) entitled Common Denominator, explores entitlement and oppression in the myriad of forms that are perpetuated in our society, including art-historically unprecedented images dealing with rape culture. A 68-page catalog will be published with the exhibition.

Abbey Lee Sarver’s work exists in a fantasy space between the digital and the real, exploring the anxiety between our physical and image-based reality. Photographs in this territory are not only exhibited but also, staged or performed. Images exist through multiple interventions or material studies and are reimagined as props, coming in and out of life as past and future illusions.

Moon Jang presents this type-driven design exhibition, Typo-Poetry: Despite Black and White in Sound focuses on language related to sound. Jang invites professional graphic designers/educators and graphic design students to participate in the exhibition. It allows the participants to explore typography as a way to write poetry and to express a designer’s voice about political, social, and cultural issues.
