2019 CHALKFEST

April 26, 2019 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

The Dodd Ambassadors introduces Lamar Dodd School of Art's first-ever sidewalk chalk competition, CHALKFEST! We invite you to come show off your skills and decorate our Art Garden with chalk masterpieces. Not interested in competing? Come anyway for awesome art, food, and music from local vendors.

All proceeds go to support the Art Supply Pantry.

As part of the Dodd's commitment to arts-oriented research, three days in the each semester are designated Research Days. On these days, classes are not held and no meetings are scheduled, leaving faculty and students free to pursue their research agendas.

2019 MFA Speaks

MFA candidates who have work on view at the Georgia Museum of Art and the Duepree Building in downtown Athens. Each speaker will have three minutes to discuss their work.

After their presentations, join the students in the galleries. Cosponsored by the Lamar Dodd School of Art.

Professor Imi Hwangbo and MFA candidate Sanaz Haghani will exhibit their work in Paper Routes: Women to Watch 2020, an exhibition of contemporary works on paper organized by the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The exhibition is curated by Michael Rooks of the High Museum, and will take place in January 2020 at MOCA GA.

Research Day

As part of the Dodd's commitment to arts-oriented research, three days in the each semester are designated Research Days. On these days, classes are not held and no meetings are scheduled, leaving faculty and students free to pursue their research agendas.

Faculty and graduate students with teaching assignments are encouraged to incorporate these days into their syllabi and make use of them in conjunction with assignments involving the Art Library or the Georgia Museum of Art.
