Raucous Featuring Grad Christina Foard and Alums Jaime Bull and Erin McIntosh

Christina Foard

RAUCOUS, on view at the Lyndon House Arts Center during the summer of 2019, features work by MFA Cadidate Christina Foard and Dodd alumnus, Jaime Bull and Erin McIntosh. Other artist in the exhibition include Kelly Boehmer and Vivian Liddell. These five women are all working to explode power structures with color and fiber.

Opening Reception June 6th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

On view through August 3, 2019

Alum Chris Wyrick was recently featured in Architectural Digest for his work on Lenny Kravitz’s Brazilian compound. Wyrick created murals for Kravitz’s former coffee plantation home that featured larger than life jungle foliage and contemporary geometric prints. Kravitz and Wyrick’s met while working together for a previous project for Kavitz Designs.

Fifty years ago, John D. Kehoe, professor at the University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art, went on a two-month search to select a site for the School’s Study Abroad Program. After visiting almost thirty different locales throughout Italy, he chose not one of the major centers of art studies, like Florence or Rome, but instead, the remarkable Tuscan town of Cortona, Italy. He could not resist the charm of the ancient walled village made famous many years later by the book and subsequent movie Under the Tuscan Sun.

Assistant Professor of Jewelry and Metalwork Demitra Thomloudis and graduate student Guadelupe Navarro are included in the Metal Museum’s 40th Anniversary Exhibition, 40 Under 40.  This exhibition will open on Sunday, May 26 and run through Sunday, September 15, 2019. The Museum will host a reception and gallery talk with the Director of Collections & Exhibitions on Sunday, June 2 at 3pm.
