Sweet Surrender, a solo exhibition of works by Associate Professor Margaret Morrison, will open at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center in the City of Rocky Mount, North Carolina on June 8.

Visiting Assistant Professor in Sculpture, Courtney McClellan will attend Yaddo this summer. Yaddo is a residency for artists, writers, and performers in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Their mission is to nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists to work without interruption in a supportive environment.

Melissa Harshman, Professor of Art and Area Chair for Printmaking and Book Arts, will have work in an upcoming exhibition at the Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University.

Mary Hallam Pearse, Associate Professor of Art and Area Chair for Jewelry and Metals, will be teaching a two week class, Jewelry Narratives: Collecting to Casting, at the Penland School of Craft from June 11 to June 22. 

Michael, an exhibition by Dodd Fellow in Photography Forest Kelley, is currently on view at the 1708 Gallery in Richmond, Virginia.

Kira Hegeman, PhD candidate in Art Education, received the Dissertation Completion Award from the Graduate School at the University of Georgia this spring. Doctoral assistantships are awarded each year on a competitive basis following a highly qualified student’s nomination by their major department or school. A faculty panel evaluates each nominee. The doctoral assistantships are available to doctoral students in their final year of study.

Alum CC Calloway's solo exhibition Long Lasting Chew at whitespec (Atlanta, Georgia) will open May 11 and run through June 16.
