At the center of the portfolio exchange is the communal nature of printmaking, and the democratic facilities of the print and its most common structural substrate, paper. In this exhibition, four graduate students from the Dodd experiment with the format of the portfolio exchange to create works that expand the print tradition, speaking to the importance of the sharing of information, and the need for time and space to process gained knowledge. Slowing down the rate of information as it is shared in our everyday world, the artists in this exhibition focus on the act of making and giving; considering intake and output, preservation, and meditation. The exhibition is collaboratively curated and features work by Catherine Clements, Kimberly McWhorter, Sanaz Haghani Nouri, and Paula Runyon.
