MIDDLEGROUND is a question, largely unresolved: a survey of living stretched across material and digital space. Today, we exist within a reality that we are both humans composed of flesh and bones as well as avatars constructed from collections of data, constantly shifting between the two. What happens in this area of rapid transferral of one’s self? MIDDLEGROUND serves as a map to this space between spaces. Each image and object an artifact from a created third reality: a collection of things lost and found in the seam. The exhibition is curated by undergraduate student, Phillip McClure, and features his own work alongside Dodd alumni: Kate Burke, CC Calloway, and Ally Christmas.
