This semester, instructor and Dodd alum Wes Price (BFA '93) joined the Lamar Dodd School of Art to offer a one-of-a-kind workshop course, Special Problems: ZBrush™ for Science Illustration. 

Professor Sunkoo Yuh will be a presenter at the third Figurative Association Symposium hosted by the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, taking place November 7 until November 10 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

The experimental design lab, C-U-B-E, will provide you with a workshop about the basic elements of flags and the relationship between flags and citizenship. You will learn about and create generative flags by using p5.js. which is a contemporary coding method.

Only 20 seats available. There will be a sign-up sheet on the wall across from the C-U-B-E gallery. Please sign up for the workshop by November 7.

Food will be available during the workshop.

Labor in a Single Shot, a recent Dodd Galleries exhibition by Assistant Professor Xin Xin is featured on BURNAWAY, an Atlanta-based digital magazine.

Work by math and graphic design students Hannah Schriever, John Byers, Daniel Easley (Graphic Design alum, 2018), and Christian Pierson has been selected for the cover of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America's (PNAS) current publication.

Dodd alumni Judy Bales (MFA 1983, BFA 1975) and René Shoemaker (BFA 1981) have been invited by the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, GA to mount a collaborative exhibition. Call + Response: Works by Judy Bales & René Shoemaker opens on November 8, with a reception from 6-8 pm, and is on view through January 12, 2019.

A collaborative effort in silk, fiber and wearable art, Bales and Shoemaker explore a long tern inspirational friendship.  

Graphic design students, accompanied by Associate Professor Moon Jung Jang, attended AIGA Atlanta's 9th Annual Student Pin-Up Show on October 20 at Matchstic in Atlanta. AIGA is the professional association for design and the Atlanta chapter is one of the largest and most active chapters in the U.S.

The University of Georgia is proud to host the Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) 2018 annual conference, from November 1-3. The 2018 theme, Arts Environments: Design, Resilience, and Sustainability, is an invitation to explore the relationship between creativity and diverse cultural locations, by framing discussions about design, resilience, and sustainability in context of interdisciplinary artistic and environmental practice.
