My work entails making pieces with masking tape that I stack, multiply, and assemble without glue. By multiplication, repetition, and expansion, each little shape reveals a new form.

ATHICA Artists in Roundtable Closing Reception

The 2018 edition of ATHICA’s annual juried exhibition runs through December 9, 2018. Guest Juror and UGA alum Teresa Bramlette Reeves (BFA Drawing and Painting, PhD Art History), Director of Curatorial Affairs, KSU Zuckerman Museum of Art, Kennesaw, Georgia, selected 27 works by 22 artists from over 145 works in competition, stating, “I always enjoy the opportunity to see work by artists I’m not familiar with, especially when the pool is so strong. And as an Athens native and a UGA graduate, I have deep connections to the area that make this opportunity even more special.”

EXTRA! EXTRA! BFA Capstone Exhibition Opening Reception

EXTRA! EXTRA!

EXTRA! EXTRA! is the capstone exhibition for BFA students graduating from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in fall 2018. Traditionally, disciplines are separated into various shows, but the students have taken a different approach this term, integrating the work of students from varied areas of study in the School in a group show on display in the School of Art's Dodd galleries.

Eileen Wallace, Senior Lecturer in Printmaking and Book Arts, curretly has a solo exhibition on view at Ciné. Glitch is a new series of letterpress prints made by the repetitive printing of traditional hairline lead rule. Typically used to print borders or lined paper, it is used in these prints to create pattern and moiré effects.

Glitch is on view through December 28.

FLUX: Exhibition at Thomas Street

Caitlin Daglis, politically unimportant places: Pennington Gap

FLUX is a group exhibition featuring new work from the University of Georgia’s first-year graduate students in studio art. Works in the exhibition are concerned with the passage of time along both personal and historical registers, tracing the notion of progress as it relates to individual artistic identity as well as cultural evolution in general.

I’m fascinated by how jewelry has been imbued with extraordinary superpowers across all cultures since the beginning of time. Jewelry as a complex and dramatic signifier playing a leading role in seduction and desire, flirting and flaunting while signaling what it means to be human is at the root of my work.
