The 2019 Science and Medical Illustration Exhibition will be on display from March 6 through March 29 in Margie E. West Gallery in The Lamar Dodd School of Art. The exhibition includes work from the undergraduate students in Science Illustration at the University of Georgia along with work from the graduate students in Medical Illustration at Augusta University.

AD • VERSE FEST is a two-day festival in Athens, GA during the first weekend in March showcasing a variety of solo and duo performers who blur the line between the musical, visual, and performative arts.  The fest will be on Friday & Saturday, March 1 + 2, 2019 at The Caledonia Lounge, Flicker, and Go Bar.

Join UGA Ceramics Student Organization and Lamar Dodd School of Art in welcoming Matt Wedel, a visiting artist in ceramics. Wedel is hosting a lecture on February 12, 2019, at 2:00 PM in N100.

Matt Wedel was born in 1983 in Born, Palisade, CO. He lives and works in Athens, OH as a ceramicist. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and then obtained a Master’s degree in Ceramics from California State University.

Statement from the Artist:

Organized by the Association of Graduate Art Students in conjunction with the Georgia Museum of Art, the biennial Emerging Scholars Symposium invites art historians who are engaged in, or have recently concluded, graduate studies to share their research with their peers  and the UGA community.

Dodd alum Nate Carlson (2013) will have a solo exhibition, Southern Pastoral, in the Leo Castelli gallery of Brenau University on view from February 14 – April 25, 2019. 

On view in the CCBC Gallery January 29 – March 24, Family Computer: Familiar Interiors, showcases a new series of pixelated cyanotypes by Ashley Anderson (Atlanta) that pays homage to the intertwining histories of art and video game graphics. A follow up to the artist’s October 2018 show in Atlanta, Family Computer Family Portrait, Familiar Interiors focuses on landscapes in classic video games and encourages a consideration of how humans interact with digital space.
