Alum Lauren O'Connor-Korb Awarded in 2020 Wiregrass Biennial

Recent MFA and Dodd Alumna Lauren O’Connor-Korb (2019) has been awarded the Judge’s Prize for her sculpture “The Soloist” in the exhibition “B20:Wiregrass Biennial”. O’Connor-Korb received one award of six among other artists featured in the virtual exhibition of The Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, Alabama.

The School of Art is pleased to announce that an essay by MFA candidate Victoria Dugger was recently featured in Burnaway. Images of Dugger's recent work accompanied her essay which explores disability and the Black female body. Dugger was featured in Mood Ring, Burnaway's artist column that features original artist projects and writings.

Graduate Students Awarded Willson Center Research Grants

The Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to share that three graduate students have been awarded funding from the Willson Center. Rachel Seburn, Shaunia Lynn Grant, and Ciel Rodriguez are recent recipients of Willson Center for Humanities & Arts grants for travel and research. The Willson Center Graduate Research Awards are merit-based grants given to University of Georgia graduate students to support expenses for arts and humanities research projects.
