Lyndon House Arts Foundation (LHAF) announce a project that expands the innovative programming under way at the Lyndon House Arts Center (LHAC). The Guest Artist/Curator project seeks individuals who identify as BIPOC, residing within Athens and ten surrounding counties to develop, design, an art exhibition to be on display for six-to-eight weeks in the Galleries at LHAC. There are three planned cycles for these exhibitions starting in May 2021.

The fourth feature in our University Special Collections Libraries Faculty Teaching Fellows program series is Moon Jung Jang from the UGA Department of Visual Communication Design in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. In the interview below, Professor Jang shares about how utilizing Special Collections archival materials impacted her and her students.

As we approach this holiday season, instruction at UGA will be transitioned to entirely remote after the Thanksgiving Holiday. Building access will be limited to grads and faculty. Anyone who uses the facilities post-Thanksgiving should be sure to leave things just as they found them on entry, so as not to cause undue work for returning faculty and grads come spring. Undergraduate students please be sure to clean your locker and space if applicable before leaving for break.

Lamar Dodd School of Art graduate students Paula Reynaldi and Annie Simpson were named finalists in the 4 minutes, 33 seconds: Spotlight on Scholarship event held in conjunction with the campus Spotlight on the Arts festival.

Isobel Mills (BFA ’12) is always eager to try new things. As a child, Mills was interested in puzzles, building with Legos and drawing. She was always drawn to texture and she found a way to bring texture to life through ceramics.
