The Lamar Dodd School of Art is looking forward to the 2022 Historic Athens Porchfest this Sunday October 2nd from 1-8 PM, which presents over 150 performers on porches across 6 historic districts in Athens. The school is sponsoring a faculty member's porch in the Boulevard district. Her porch will host the rock n' roll group Scarlet Stitch at 5 PM! NYC Maymester Interest Meeting

Curious about studying abroad for Maymester? Students have the opportunity to spend three weeks in New York City this May and June exploring studios, museums, and the contemporary art and design world of NYC. Mornings are spent in an art history course in a classroom or museum while afternoons are spent in a smaller seminar course focused on design and contemporary art. Under the direction of UGA faculty, students will have the opportunity to visit with working artists, non-profit spaces, curators, designers, and businesses integral to contemporary artists and designers.

Honoring Linnentown: A Living Mosaic

Words carved into brick: "The roots struggle that hidden of Linnentown"

Organized and designed by First Year Odyssey students enrolled in Associate Professor Lynn Sanders-Bustle's Art and Activism class, a living mosaic honoring Linnentown will be installed by students, faculty, staff and passersby from noon-6 p.m. on Monday, October 3 on Memorial Plaza outside the Tate Student Center.
