ONE NIGHT ONLY

ONE NIGHT ONLY

Come one, come all. Don your paper caps and join us in the parking lot behind the Athenaeum for ONE NIGHT ONLY, an old-time revival of objects, words, sounds, and movements that can’t be contained beneath a roof. The church doors have been torn asunder, the museum decorations dragged into the streets. Only the carnivalesque remains. This “syncretic pageantry of a ritualistic sort” aims to conjoin “the sacred with the profane,” boasting temporary galleries in the beds of pickup trucks, art installations on the asphalt, and poetry readings in the dark along with improvised music and dance.

Event Date
Fri, 11/18/2022 - 18:00

Opening this Thursday, October 20th, in the Lupin Foundation Gallery, Twin Realms is a collaboration between Dodd MFA candidates Katie Ford and Lindsey Kennedy. The artists come together to create a new, shared body of work that investigates dimensional illegibility and impermanence as ways of prompting an experience of instability. The works question what emerges in the gap between perception and understanding.

Exhibition Dates

October 20 - November 17, 2022

Opening Reception

October 20, 5 - 7 PM

4'33" Research Competition in the Arts

In the spirit of John Cage's groundbreaking work 4'33", students will present for four minutes and thirty-three seconds.
