Congratulations to PhD Students Laura Lake Smith and Victoria Eudy, Recipients of the 2014 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award!

Laura Lake Smith, PhD Candidate in Art History and Victoria Eudy, PhD student in Art Education, are the 2014 recipients of the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award! This is a university-wide competitive award and recipients are selected by the Graduate School. Congratulations to Laura and Victoria!

Receives honorable mention in the “Art” category from Foreword Reviews’ IndieFab Book of the Year Awards

Exuberance of Meaning: The Art Patronage of Catherine the Great (1762-1796), published by the Georgia Museum of Art in conjunction with the exhibition mounted there in 2013, received an honorable mention in the “Art” category from Foreword Reviews’ IndieFab Book of the Year Awards. Dr. Asen Kirin, who is this volume’s primary author, also served as a guest curator of the exhibition.

School of Art Maymester in New York City

Lamar Dodd School of Art students take part in first-ever UGA field study in contemporary art

30 Lamar Dodd School of Art students recently returned from New York City where they spent three weeks during the 2014 Maymester. The experience was a field study short course (May 13- June 4) taught by a team of UGA art faculty members – Isabelle Loring Wallace, Mary Hallam Pearse and Marni Shindelman. For 25 undergraduate and five graduate students, the experience was an opportunity to immerse in one of the center of the contemporary art world.

Trifecta Clay Perfecta

Trifecta Clay Perfecta is an outstanding exhibit showcasing the ceramic work of UGA professors Ted Saupe and Sun Koo Yuh along with UGA emeritus professor Ron Meyers.
