Special Topics in Photography

Advanced topics in Scientific Illustration with a focus on 3D modeling within a production pipeline. Topics may range from creating models in ZBrush for texturing and lighting in Cinema 4D to preparing models for 3D printing and interactive educational viewers.

Lisa Williamson Lecture

Lisa Williamson is a Los Angeles based artist from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Interested in creating a distinct language over time while following an honest internal logic, Williamson has built a body of work focused on the expressive potential of objects. Material, color, surface, and scale are systematically thought through in her multi-media practice which includes sculpture, painting and drawing. This talk is supported by a grant from the Willson Center for the Humanities and Arts.

Graduate Art Committee Meeting

The first GAC (Graduate Art Committee) meeting of the Fall 2019 semester will be this Thursday, October 3rd, at 5pm in room N100. Light snacks provided.

About the organization:

GAC is a newly formed (and funded) organization for current art grads in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. The primary concern of this organization is the production and promotion of contemporary art. Though governed by Studio Art MFAs, all Art History and Art Education graduate students are welcome and encouraged to participate.

2 - 5 PM Open Studios at Main Building & Ceramics Building
4 - 7 PM Open Studios at Thomas Street Art Complex
6 - 9 PM Party at Thomas Street Art Complex (food, drinks, music)

Open Studios is free and open to the public.

This fall, the Dodd welcomes its 3 newest interdisciplinary fellows, pursuing degrees in Geography and English. Amy Bonnaffons, Sara Thomas Black, and Leanne Purdum will reside at the School of Art for the next academic year.
