Graduate students AJ Aremu and Luka Carter have been selected as participants in the competitive 2021 Chautauqua School of Art Residency Program. The Chautauqua School of Art residency program is a centerpiece of the Chautauqua Visual Arts (CVA). Founded in 1909, the School is an incubator of inclusive and expansive programming in the visual arts composed of workshops and one-on-one time with mentors covering all media.

Four undergraduate students in Art History courses have been published in the latest issue of The Classic, the Writing Intensive Program’s journal of undergraduate writing and research. Their work can be read in the current issue, 6.2, online here.

Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to announce that this spring the Dodd Ambassadors were awarded a University of Georgia Parent Leadership Council Grant. This grant provides crucial funding for an art sale initiative that the Dodd Ambassadors are developing.

Congratulations to alumna Stacy Isenbarger, Associate Professor at University of Idaho, who received the 2021 Master Educator Award from FATE.

PhD Candidate Jordan Dopp was recently awarded a 2021 doctoral fellowship from the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) located in Amman, Jordan. This is a highly coveted residential fellowship wherein recipients reside at the ACOR center to access the unparalleled library on site and to conduct research more broadly throughout Jordan (at Petra, for example) and the larger Near East.

Maelyn Ehrman, Interior Design major, was recently named the third place recipient of the UGA Student Employee of the Year Award. The award is given to student employees at UGA each year as a part of the Peer Learning and Teaching Others program (PLATO for short). Maelyn currently serves as a Lead Peer Tutor in the tutoring program where she works with undergraduate Math students, participates in best practice trainings, and promotes the Division of Academic Enhancement across campus.
