Congratulations to MFA Candidate Victoria Dugger on her forthcoming solo exhibition at Sargent's Daughters in New York. The Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to share this notable accomplishment. Out of Body will be on view from June 24 through July 24. The exhibition opening will take place  from 2 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, June 24th at Sargent’s Daughters gallery in New York.

Hosted by Lisa Novak (School of Collaboration and Invention) at the University of Georgia with support from artist and educator Forrest Lawson, and funded by the Broun Fund Micro-Grant Award, Youth Space 2021 invited Athens-area teens to participate in a youth-led art and social practice program at the Lamar Dodd School of Art.

As part of the Dodd's commitment to arts-oriented research, three days in the each semester are designated Research Days. On these days, classes are not held and no meetings are scheduled, leaving faculty and students free to pursue their research agendas.

Esteemed Wheatley Professor in Fine Arts Emeritus, Art Rosenbaum, will present a major series of paintings Adamham Town and The Grey Rabbit Trilogy that will be shown together for the first time, alongside more recent works. The exhibition will be on display from July 23 - August 19 and a reception will be held on Friday, July 23, 6-8pm.

Two recent alumni of the Jewelry and Metals area at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, Guadalupe Navarro and Laurel Fulton, have been recognized for their accomplishments by the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG). Both Navarro and Fulton have been invited to participate in SNAG's 2021 Virtual Conference, Inspire/Aspire: A SNAG Virtual Convening taking place June 24 - 27, 2021.

The School of Art is pleased to share that MA student Charlotte Gaillet has accepted a paid yearlong internship at the Dallas Museum of Art as the McDermott Intern of American Art. Gaillet will be working with the Museum's curator of American art, Sue Canterbury on special exhibitions. This accomplishment is reflective of the Art History area's recent successes in career placement and grad school acceptances related to American art.
