Art history students present papers at the New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium

The 2023 SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium, a highly-recognized conference for undergraduate students in the discipline, has accepted papers by three art history students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Andrew East, Gabriela Jones, and Sophie Johnson will present their research at the virtual symposium, which will take place via Zoom from April 13 - 16. Graduating Graphic Design students present 'Detention to Detail, Graphic Design BFA Exit Show 2023'

The Lamar Dodd School of Art celebrates the work of 29 undergraduate students earning their degree in graphic design in the upcoming exhibition Detention to Detail, Graphic Design BFA Exit Show 2023. Detention to Detail features an array of graphic design work reflecting the students’ interests in both subject matter and style of design. Topics range from algae blooms, fast fashion, language loss, urban heat islands, mental resiliency, walkable cities, and everything in between.

Join intellectual property law professors and practitioners, museum curators, and art historians for a conversation on the ramifications of AI art on intellectual property law in the United States, providing a perspective that may be similar to that of plaintiffs in pending AI art cases. 

The Journal of Intellectual Property Law Symposium 2023 will be hosted at the UGA School of Law in Classroom A on April 13 from 5 to 6 pm. This event is free, with refreshments following the panel discussion.

Ushering in graduation season, the Lamar Dodd School of Art proudly presents Where the Sidewalk Ends, BFA Spring 2023 Exit Show in the Dodd Galleries, an exhibition organized by and featuring the work of 42 graduating BFA students. This exhibition marks a milestone for studio art undergraduates completing their studies at the Dodd.
