Dodd Alum Phillip McClure opens Blue Boy gallery in Savannah

Blue Boy, a new contemporary art space in Savannah, GA, is set to open this September. Directed by Dodd alum Phillip McClure, the new space is committed to exhibiting evolving art practices in the Southeast and beyond. The gallery's first exhibition, Poems, opens on September 19th and will present work by artists Sara Malpass & Sara Hess, a fellow Dodd alum.

Artist Talk | Elaine Stephenson

Join alumna Elaine Stephenson BFA '11 for an artist talk to hear about her latest public art project in Athens, the value of public art, and her career as a muralist.

A graduate of Lamar Dodd School of Art in 2011, Elaine was selected to paint a new mural on an underpass along the North Oconee Greenway Trail. This marks her first public artwork in Athens, GA.

Wedding Photo Shoot at the Botanical Gardens on Friday, November 8. Looking for a talented photographer (hopefully with some wedding work) to take 30~50 photos. Shoot will be outside primarily.

UGA Graphic Design Faculty Jang and Spivey won Silver Award for Micro/Macro Typography from the 2024 UCDA Design Awards

Associate Professor of Graphic Design Moon Jang and Professor of Graphic Design Julie Spivey have co-taught ARGD 4030: Advanced Typography before. In 2023, their course outcomes were transformed into a design exhibition Micro/Macro Typography (directed by Jang and co-curated by Jang and Spivey), which was exhibited at C-U-B-E in the Lamar Dodd School of Art main building. This year, their design won a Silver Award from the 2024 UCDA (the University & College Designers Association) Design Awards.
