Crooked will be on view beginning January 17 and features work by Andrae Green, Craig Coleman and Jess Machacek. Join us on April 7, 2022 at 6pm for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and hear remarks from the artists and curator, followed by Indigo’s first “Live After 5”performance on the patio.   Craig Coleman is an artist who works in photography, installation, and digital media. Coleman received his BFA from Florida State University and his MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Currently he is Professor of Art and Chair of the Art Department at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. His projects connect ideas and processes from experimental film with digital art and installation.  Jess Machacek (b. Omaha, NE, 1987) produces domestic objects, paintings and installations to propose notions of nature constructed by irony and familiarity. Her sculptural work plays with ideas of scale, modularity, and pattern in reference to artifacts blurred by modernism, industry, and uses of commercial color. She received an MFA in Studio Art (University of Georgia, 2015) and BFA in Printmaking (University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 2011). Machacek is currently a Visiting Artist and Scholar at Columbus State University (GA) and working collaboratively through HyperCultural Passengers Connectivity Tables Project (DE).  Lilly McEachern of Columbus, GA received a B.A. in journalism with a minor in art history and a certificate in museum studies from The University of Georgia in 2020. She currently works as Project Coordinator at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art and at the Lyndon House Arts Center, where she is conducting research on the enslaved population of the Ware-Lyndon Historic House. She has curated exhibitions at the Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, the Lyndon House Arts Center, Steffen Thomas Museum of Art, and Hotel Indigo Athens.
