Give Them the Slip: a Dodd MFA exhibition curated by Wendy Vogel

The Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to announce an exhibition featuring graduate students organized by New York-based curator, Wendy Vogel. The exhibition, Give them the Slip, is presented by the gallery Regina Rex and will be mounted in bitforms gallery at 131 Allen Street. The exhibition will run from May 24 – May 27 with an exhibition reception on May 24 from 6pm to 9pm.

Awards Ceremony for Scientific Illustration Juried Exhibition

Join us on March 7, 2018 for a reception and award ceremony for the 2018 Student Scientific and Medical Illustration Juried Exhibition. This exhibition includes work from UGA's Scientific Illustration program as well as the Augusta University Graduate program in Medical Illustration. Presented will be the Logan Award of Excellence in Scientific Illustration and the Strenstrom Award of Excellence in Medical Illustration

Closing Reception for Coki Panda's "Latent"

Coki Panda was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She was adopted at eight-months old and raised in an American-Irish family. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee until she was twelve. She then moved to Atlanta and has been a resident ever since. She very much considers herself an ATLien. She received her BFA in Printmaking from Savannah College of Art & Design-Atlanta in 2014. She is currently working as a studio artist and liquor manager at a wine and spirits store in Decatur, Georgia.

La Mostra: Closing Reception

La Mostra, or The Show is a continuation of a 48-year-old tradition exhibiting artwork produced by students and faculty during their sojourn at UGA’s Study Abroad in Cortona, Italy. Works produced by Cortona program participants during Spring, Summer and Fall programs of 2017 will be displayed at the School of Art January 4–20, 2018. On January 20, 2018 a reunion and closing reception will take place at the School of Art, where closing ceremony festivities will begin at 3:00 pm in auditorium S151. 

August Sun

Organized by Dodd BFA in Drawing and Painting alum, Ridley Howard, August Sun features work in a variety of media that investigate ideas of construction, visual play, and illusion. The artists in that exhibition include Amanda Baldwin, Sophia Chai, Holly Coulis, Tim Davis, Ridley Howard, Carol John, Butt Johnson, Emily Noelle Lambert, Jim Lee, Tony Matelli, Veronika Pausova, Ry Rocklen, and Mitchell Wright.
