Professor Imi Hwangbo and alumni Jerushia Graham and Sanaz Haghani are featured in Paper Routes which was curated by Michael Rooks the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum in Atlanta.  The exhibition focuses on the transformation of paper into complex works of art.  Paper Routes: Women to Watch 2020 will demonstrate that paper is not always the overlooked support for drawings, prints, and photographs, but instead an extraordinary medium in and of itself. “Women to Watch” is an exhibition program, held every two to three years, developed by the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.

Imi Hwangbo received her B.A. in Studio Art from Dartmouth College and her M.F.A. in Sculpture from Stanford University. Hwangbo has been the recipient of numerous artist fellowships, with residencies at the American Academy in Rome, the Camargo Foundation in France, Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony, and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art. Her work in constructed drawing has been exhibited in solo shows at the Volta Art Fair and the Pavel Zoubok Gallery in New York City, and the Miller Yezerski Gallery in Boston.  Articles and reviews of her work have appeared in The Huffington Post, Art in America, Sculpture Magazine, The Boston Globe, the Washington Post, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She is a professor of art at the Lamar Dodd School of Art.

Sanaz Haghani has an MFA with Distinction in Printmaking + Book Arts from the University of Georgia. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Sooreh University in Shiraz, Iran. Haghani has presented her works at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, The Morgan Conservatory, Robert C, Williams Museum of Papermaking, Georgia Museum of Art, and Missoula Art Museum as well as exhibiting internationally in multiple solo, group, and competitive exhibitions.

Jerushia Graham, based in Atlanta, is the museum coordinator for the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking. She earned an MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pa., and BFA degrees in Fabric Design and Printmaking from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. Today, Graham exhibits both nationally and internationally. She was previously the education director for Atlanta Printmakers Studio, and has served as an arts professor for Kennesaw State University, the University of West Georgia, and the Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur.
