18 Points of View: Collaborative Still-Life Drawings

ARST 1050: DRAWING I

Students in Drawing I create still-life setups in groups for collaborative drawings. Students select objects and create visually engaging compositions from all angles by considering the foreground, midground, and background and objects of varying heights and sizes.  Each student starts a drawing, setting up the composition for his or her individual drawing.  The class works collaboratively on all 18 drawings, thinking about contour, value, medium, and composition. These drawings are the first still-life drawings of the semester and will be on display from start to finish with opportunity to see progress and problem-solving through drawing from 18 different points of view. 

Viewers are welcome to join in and draw with a pumpkin still-life set up in the corner of the gallery and participate in the fun!
