ARCHIVE FEVER is a new program at the Dodd Galleries that explores research and visual culture. Part Pechu-Kucha, part image round-robin, 4 students, faculty, and visiting artists will be asked to present 10-15 slides that inform their perceptual, emotional, and intellectual archive.
This round features MA candidate in art history Claire Dempster; MFA candidate in Book Arts & Printmaking Aaron Foster; BFA candidate in Book Arts & Printmaking Anthony Gaskins; and Associate Professor in Jewelry and Metals Mary Hallam Pearse.
Natalie Chanin of Alabama Chanin will be leading a sewing/stitching workshop at the Lamar Dodd School of Art on Thursday, January 28th beginning at 2:00 in the first floor atrium. There will be a limited number of kits (fabric, needle, thread) so it will be first come, first served for kits but everyone is invited to participate. She will give a brief introduction and then students will have the opportunity to work on a section of what will later become a large scale piece.
