Job Opportunity | University of New Mexico Art Position

The University of New Mexico, Department of Art has a vacancy for an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. Our department seeks an artist whose practice is rooted in graphic and digital design and who would be able to develop and teach a rigorous design curriculum.  The ideal candidate should possess the ability to teach at all levels of Graphic Design and integrate various areas of practice into the curriculum. The new faculty member will be part of the Experimental Art and Technology area, an interdisciplinary emerging technology focused area in the Department of Art. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. The teaching load is two courses per semester (2/2). Along with the prioritized 2/2 teaching load, service and on-going scholarship is expected, concurrent with the teaching load.

SALARY:  $62,400

4) Maximum of three representative course syllabi.

5) Teaching philosophy.

6) Artist statement.

7) 20 examples of your work, with a list of images, including title, year, medium, and dimensions.

8) 15 examples of student work, with a list of images including title, year, medium, and dimensions.

If selected for the position, you will need to provide official certification of successful completion of all minimum degree requirements for this position prior to your initial employment with UNM.

The Department of Art offers the B.A., B.F.A., M.A., M.F.A., and Ph.D. degrees. Resources at the University include the UNM ARTSLab, a transdisciplinary research facility and exhibition space with an emphasis on immersive and interactive technology.
