Students interested in pursuing a BFA or AB Interdisciplinary Art & Design degree must first submit work through the portfolio review process.

The Dodd's annual Portfolio Review Week occurs once every Fall and Spring semester. The current term's Timeline and Area specific information can be found below.

Fabric Design

The Fabric Design Area participates in Portfolio Review Week during the Fall and Spring semesters.  

Portfolio Requirements 

Please submit digital images of 5 of your best artworks to Area Chair Jennifer Crenshaw at crenshaw@uga.edu.

Suggested works to submit:

  • Drawing/Paintings
  • Color compositions/collages
  • Photography
  • Printmaking
  • Work from Textile Foundations ARST 2700 if you have taken this class
  • 3-D projects

  • Statement of purpose describing your interest in Textiles and why you would like to become a major (200-250 words)

Graphic Design

The Graphic Design Area is participating in Portfolio Review Week during the Spring semester 2021.  
Applicants must be currently enrolled in ARGD 3020, Graphic Systems, and have already completed ARGD 2010, Graphic Design Survey.

Portfolio Requirements 

At least 75% of the student's work must include design outcomes and exploration from ARGD 2010 Graphic Design Survey and ARGD 3020 Graphic Systems. Students may additionally include work created in studio core (foundations) or other art and design courses.

Digital Portfolio

A digital portfolio will be submitted to a course titled Graphic Design Portfolio Review Spring 2021 on eLC. 

Students must first register to apply to graphic design here by March 1 in order to receive instructions for submission and be enrolled in the above eLC course. 

** PLEASE NOTE: Those students applying to the Graphic Design Area need to register to apply at the link above AND must submit a Portfolio Review Application.

Interior Design

Interior Design accepts students to the program after a Progression Review at the end of Fall semester each year.

Interdisciplinary Art & Design (AB)

The Interdisciplinary Art & Design Area participates in Portfolio Review Week during the Fall and Spring semesters.  

Portfolio Requirements & Application Materials

Choose 5 of your best work from any of your courses.  These can be images, videos, or documentation of  3D or installation work. Write a narrative statement about your interest in making art. Think of it as a story to tell us about what being an artist means to you. Format your images with the specifications below and upload them and your statement here.

Portfolios not formatted correctly will not be viewed.

Photography

The Photography Area participates in Portfolio Review Week during the Fall and Spring semesters.  

Portfolio Requirements & Application Materials

Choose your 15 best images/videos from your intro class. Write a narrative statement about your interest in photography (no more than 1 page). Think of it as a story to tell us about what photography means to you. We are looking for work that shows successful image making, both conceptually and technically. You may have 30% of this be from past projects not from this class. Format these images with the specifications below and upload them and your statement here.

Portfolios not formatted correctly will not be viewed.
