Joseph Norman's "Berlin Autumn No. 9" Now housed in Permanent Collection

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston acquires purchased gift of a gouache painting on paper “Berlin Autumn No. 109”, of the Berlin Autumn series, from Rhode Island artist Joseph Norman, Professor of Art at University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art. This painting joins an already stellar body of work previously acquired by the MFA, Boston through the generous gifts of patrons like Dr. Joseph Chazan, of Providence, Rhode Island, known as an indefatigable champion of Rhode Island artists and their work. Furthermore, an upcoming publication from the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design will document gifts Dr. Chazan has made to the RISD Museum, allowing it to amass the most complete and representative collection in existence of works by contemporary Rhode Island artists. Along with Joseph Norman’s lithograph, “Flamenco Women,” the publication will include works by photographers Aaron Siskind, Harry Callahan, and glass artist Dale Chihuly, among others.
