Add to Calendar 2022-04-19 10:00:00 2022-04-21 18:00:00 2022 Torrance Festival of Ideas The annual Torrance Festival of Ideas is a free online educational and cultural event where renowned experts from across disciplines present their innovative ideas to the general public. This year's festival (Apr 19-21, 2022) showcases unique perspectives on a range of topics including creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation, aesthetics, flow, imagination, emotions, motivation, AI, digital art, music, literature, wellbeing, community health, mental health, sociocultural engagement, childhood, aging, equality, identity, political resistance, and social change. Check out the festival website (https://whova.com/web/tfoi_202204/) for the detailed agenda and register for your free tickets today! In the spirit of building a creative community, we will also be featuring artwork in the festival's online portal from all who submit (https://forms.gle/cx8amwof4tFpF7Fb9) their Creative Contribution by April 15, 2022. For inspiration, check out last year's submissions: https://mfecoe.shorthandstories.com/FOI2021_submissions/index.html.   UGA faculty member David Sutherland will be leading a session along with John Snyder, owner of Tweed Recording. Several other panels will be on topics relevant to your students and faculty partners: Bruce Adolphe's session on The Musical Imagination, Tasha Golden's talk on public health and the arts, Caroline Woolard on making a living in the cultural economy, Michael Strauebig discussion on NFTs, the metaverse, and Web3, and performer Stefania Ballone's conversation with psychologist Gerald Cupchik's on dance and the formation of self.
