Daisy Craddock (MFA 1973) will give a lecture on her work, on view in the M. Smith Griffith Grand Hall. The exhibition Daisy Craddock, Paintings from the Eighties will be on view at the Georgia Museum of Art through October 15.

Craddock (born 1949, Memphis, TN) received a BA in Fine Arts from Rhodes College and an MFA in Painting from the University of Georgia. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the United States. Recent one person shows include Summer Produce, Garvey Simon Gallery, June 2017 and Daisy Craddock: A View of One’s Own, John Davis Gallery, Hudson NY, August 2017. Recent group shows include In Conversation, Clough Hanson Gallery, Rhodes College, Memphis TN, October, 2017, RAIR @ 50, Roswell Museum and Art Center, October 2017 – April, 2018., and Flower Power, Garvey Simon Gallery, New York City, March 2018.

Craddock’s work has been reviewed in Art in America, The New York Times, Art & Antiques, American Artist, Art News, and Arts Magazine among numerous other publications. An interview with Brainard Carey for Yale Radio can be found in the PRAXIS radio archives.

Public collections include the Anderson Museum, Newark Museum, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Georgia Museum of Art, the Milwaukee Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Roswell Museum, Rubin Museum of Art, and the Weatherspoon Museum. Daisy is the recipient of a 1989 Roswell Artist in Residency and a 2002 New York Foundation for the Arts, New York Arts Recovery Grant. The artist lives and works in New York City. and upstate New York.
