The Georgia Museum of Art will present a series of film adaptations of novels by Southern women authors over three weeks in July: Carson McCullers' "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" on July 12, Flannery O'Connor's "Wise Blood" on July 19, and Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" on July 26. All film screenings will take place at 7 pm and are free and open to the public. 

Film adaptation of Flannery O’Connor’s acclaimed 1952 novel. After returning home from World War II, uneducated and irreligious U.S. Army veteran Hazel Motes (Brad Dourif) decides to make his way in the world by impersonating a priest and starting his own religion. Motes soon attracts a follower—a manic potato peeler named Enoch Emery (Dan Shot)—but things get complicated when he encounters fellow sidewalk charlatans Asa Hawks (Harry Dean Stanton) and his waif-like young daughter, Sabbath Lilly Hawks (Amy Wright).
