MFA Candidate Victoria Dugger Praised in Burnaway and Flagpole

The work of MFA candidate Victoria Dugger has recently garnered praise, with features in Burnaway and Flagpole magazines. Dugger's solo exhibition at the Lyndon House Arts Center, Mind the Body, centers around "reclaiming the female body, the Black body and the disabled body [as] a liberating act of defiance," according to Flagpole magazine. The work received high praise from both publications, making the front cover of the February issue of Flagpole.

While stemming from personal experiences about being differently abled, Dugger’s exhibition reinforces that the politics of visibility is a universal issue. We all must conscientiously navigate how and whether we are seen in a world that continually relies on the concentrated view of screens.

- Burnaway

Mind the Body is currently on view at the Lyndon House Art Center's Lounge Gallery through Apr. 3.  3Thurs Artist Talk will be held with Dugger on March 18, 2021.
