Current Dodd MFA student Amanda Britton, is featured in the group exhibition Spotlight on Student Fiber Trends 2018 at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Britton's work took second place in the exhibiton. The exhibition is on view through November 2.

Spotlight on Student Fiber Trends 2018, a Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance's (SEFAA) exhibition, features the work of 23 students enrolled in high school, college, and graduate-level fiber programs throughout the Southeast. Work in the show was selected by juror, Rachel Meginnes. Meginnes is a studio artist based in Western, North Carolina, working within the media of textiles and painting. Meginnes studied Fibers at the University of Washington and Earlham College and studied traditional textile processes in northern Japan. She was a Penland School of Crafts Resident Artist from 2012-2015.

SEFAA, an Atlanta based organization whose mission is to cultivate the regional fiber arts community, by celebrating, supporting, and perpetuating all fiber art forms and by fostering collaboration and co-operation in the fiber arts community. The SEFAA offers classes, workshops, exhibitions, events, rental space and much more at the SEFAA Center.

Amanda Britton was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Britton's love of textiles began at an early age. Recalling falling asleep to the hum of her mother’s sewing machine, Britton has a strong passion involving the construction, application, and handling of various fibers. She received her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as she is currently a MFA candidate at the University of Georgia, focusing on Textile Design.
