This fall, recent art history graduate Becca Gross (AB 2018) will be serving as an intern for the Publications & Marketing departments at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, DC. NMWA’s mission is to “champion women through the arts,” and they are the only major museum in the world dedicated exclusively to this cause. NMWA showcases women artists, both the past and present, in an effort to address and rectify the historic gender disparity present in the art world, an imbalance that exists even today. 

Through her position, Gross will have the opportunity to contribute regularly to the museum’s blog, Broad Strokes, as well as assist in researching, writing, and editing various museum publications. In the Marketing department, Becca will assist in media monitoring and promotion for the museum’s upcoming fall exhibitions, including their landmark show Rodarte, the first contemporary fashion exhibition NMWA has ever produced opening on November 10.

Gross graduated from the University of Georgia in 2018 with an AB in Art History. Her education focused on 19th and 20th century art in the US and Europe, with a particular focus on early European modernism. She has a special interest in feminist art history, the intersection between art and fashion, and the ways in which museums & galleries utilize digital platforms. Gross has held curatorial internships with the Georgia Museum of Art and CCBC Gallery in Athens, Georgia.
