Director Joseph Peragine studied drawing and painting at the Lamar Dodd School of Art in the early 1980s. A decade later, alum and School of Art board member Ridley Howard paralleled Peragine, graduating from the Dodd in 1996 with a BFA in painting. This past weekend, Howard's latest solo exhibition Forever opened at the New York City gallery Marinaro. Peragine was among various colleagues from the school and from the Athens area to attend the celebration.

According to Marinaro Gallery, “Howard’s recent paintings continue his investigation of color and shape, as well as the reciprocal relationship between figuration and abstraction. This body of work dives deeper into the Pop aesthetic that has infused Howard’s work in recent years, combining a geometric and cinematic sensibility with his signature, delicate painterliness.”

Exhibition dates

October 21 – December 10, 2022

Opening

Friday, October 21, 5-8 pm
