Assistant or Associate Professor
Visual Communications/Graphic Design

The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia invites applicants for a faculty position at the assistant or associate rank focusing in visual communication design. Candidates will be judged on their merits and experience, rank and tenure status will be determined at time of offer following the University guidelines for appointment. 

The Graphic Design area in the Lamar Dodd School of Art is entering an exciting time of renewal and growth and is searching for a collaborator to help lead this transition with fresh ideas and the willingness to work make them happen. 

The faculty member will pursue an active program of research, teach a 2/2 load of courses, collaborate with design area faculty in curricular and program development; and contribute to service of the School, University, community, and the profession.

Assistant Professor, Studio Core

The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor to serve in its Studio Core Program. The position will have research, teaching and service obligations and will begin August 2020.

The successful candidate will be ready to contribute to Studio Art Core at The Lamar Dodd School of Art as it aims to develop a common knowledge/skill base at the intersection of the arts and design by way of engaging foundational concepts.

All program areas of specialization within the BFA program at UGA employ relational, transgressive, or experiential pedagogies beyond conventional classroom structures of Staatliches Bauhaus, École des Beaux-Arts, or industry methodologies. The Studio Core Program is the center of our BFA and BA curriculum.

Lecturer, Design, Interior Architecture & Spatial Practice

Anticipated Start Date: 8/01/2020

The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Design with expertise in interior architectural design and spatial/sculptural practice. This is a non-tenure track position with an emphasis on teaching and is renewable annually with full benefits, with the possibility of promotion to Senior Lecturer. The position will begin August 2020.

This Lecturer will be a vital member of the collaborative community of the Lamar Dodd School of Art, working with colleagues to develop curricula and expand programs, and engaging in student mentorship.

The position requires teaching eight courses per year (4 each semester) in Interior Design and related 3-D design/fabrication areas (with possible additional summer teaching if interested), and the potential for cross-disciplinary and team-teaching opportunities.
