After enjoying The Spotlight Opening Celebration at the Performing Arts Center, walk over to the Lamar Dodd School of Art for an After Party! We'll be celebrating 4 new exhibitions and at 9pm we present performances by Dodd Graduate student, Lambda Celsius,and Los Angeles-based composer and multi-media artist, Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs. 

Lambda Celsius (or Λ°C) is the musical avatar of AC Carter: artist, musician, producer, bass player, and costume designer. AC currently performs as Ana Echo in a karaoke set up in hand-made costumes accompanied by virtual assistant Alexa as the DJ, speaking from a post punk ethos highlighting gender inequality and the passivity of the stereotyped gendered voice.

Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs is Berkeley-born, Los Angeles-based composer and multi-media artist. She creates entry points into her compositions through sculpture, video, costume, and performance. The core theme of her practice is the conviction that the creation of new mythologies can lead to the deconstruction + devastation of real-life hierarchical structures. She's presented work at The Getty Center, deYoung Museum, Hammer Museum, MOCA LA, SFMOMA, Bangkok University, High Desert Test Sites, Berkeley Art Museum and All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival (UK).
