She is very interested in the strong connection they have with their phones. Social media, propaganda, and advertising as well as blogs and messaging are a very prolific part of their everyday lives. They frequently search the internet for images, ideas, and examples when creating art in her classroom. Many students end up copying ideas and artwork that have already been created stifling their creative thoughts and expression. With rapidly paced technology readily available, what will art classrooms and original student work look like in the very near future? Biography Alexandrea E. Boyington is currently a PhD Student in Art Ed at UGA. Boyington has taught high school for almost a decade in Newton County. Over the course of her teaching career, she has taught Visual Arts, Drawing & Painting, Ceramics, Graphic Arts, Photography, AP Art History, and AP Studio Art. Boyington is an active member of Georgia Art Educators Association and present workshops every year at the fall conference. She is the Youth Art Month sponsor for the state of Georgia and have won two national awards for her scrapbooks. She has two young daughters and a husband that also help keep her busy.
