Del Martin, CFRE, has provided results-oriented counsel to hundreds of capital and endowment campaigns, as well as helping clients establish major gifts and annual fund programs. Martin is recognized nationally as a pioneer in development audits and has probably conducted more than anyone in the Southeast.

As a Founding Partner of Alexander Haas Martin & Partners, Martin helped build the firm to be recognized as the leading regional fundraising consulting firm in the Southeast. She served as its chief creative services officer, overseeing the development of campaign strategy plans and campaign materials for all clients as well as the firm's marketing activities. She led a creative team that earned numerous honors. She also worked with a wide variety of nonprofit institutions, advising on capital campaigns and major gift fundraising, including LaGrange College, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, AID Atlanta, Georgia College & State University, the Wellmont Healthcare Foundation, to name but a few. Martin currently works with a select number of nonprofit clients advising on campaign, major gifts, board development, case statement development and branding.

Martin is a Past Chair of the Giving USA Foundation, publishers of Giving USA, having served on its board for almost two decades. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, having served on the Georgia Chapter Board. She currently chairs the Philanthropist of the Year Award for Atlanta’s Philanthropy Day. She has been an active member in The Giving Institute — Leading Counsel to Nonprofits, having served as Program & Education Chair, as well as leadership for the Institute’s Summer Symposium. A Certified Fund Raising Executive and a graduate of the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) of the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, Martin is a frequent presenter and lecturer and conducts workshops and seminars in fundraising and marketing. She has made presentations for many AFP chapters including AFP International Conference on Fund-raising and for the Georgia Planned Giving Council. Del is a “heavy hitter” award-winner for her CASE presentation, “Effective Writing Skills for Advancement Professionals.” She has authored numerous articles for such publications as CASE Currents, The Donor Developer and Fund Raising Management magazine. Martin served on the first Advisory Committee of the Atlanta Library of the Foundation Center, and is a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2004. In 2012 she was honored with the inaugural Womenetics Lifetime Impact Award.

On the “giving” side of the table, Martin serves as the only non-family board member of the David & Linda Shaheen Foundation (NV), expanding her philanthropic experience into grant-making.

A native Georgian, Martin is a graduate of the University of Georgia, with an undergraduate degree in graphic communications and graduate work in journalism and advertising. She is also a professional artist, and has her work in many private collections, as well as shown at the Chastain Art Center Gallery, the Creative Arts Guild in Dalton, WildAcres Annual Exhibit in NC, and the UGA Atlanta Alumni Center. She has taught painting & travel journaling in Cortona, Italy.
