NEW Course Spotlight | Maymester Thematic Inquiry

The Lamar Dodd School of Art offers ARST 4915/6915: Thematic Inquiry each semester. Thematic Inquiry is designed for students to engage contemporary issues in the field of studio art practice, working across media. This studio class addresses a topical theme of inquiry such as sustainability, social politics, personal identity, science, or popular culture.

Photo Bookmaking: From Zines to Online Self-Publishing

In this online course students will investigate the relationship between photographs and text in various book formats; from zines to artists books to monographs. We will look at all aspects of bookmaking, from forms, to layout, to sequencing, to text, to conceptual underpinnings of books. Students will create multiple publications, utilizing everything from home printers to on-demand book printing services. Students need access to a computer running the Adobe Creative Suite.
