The Lamar Dodd School of Art is thrilled to announce that scholarship applications are now open for the 2026-2027 academic year. In 2025, the School of Art awarded approximately $70,000 in merit, departmental, study abroad, and graduate scholarships, with an average range of $500 – $2,000 per award!
All undergraduate or graduate students who will be full-time in 2026-2027 are encouraged to apply. Whether you need help with tuition fees, want to dive deep into research, enhance your artistic practice, or embark on an unforgettable study abroad experience, this is the perfect opportunity.
There are three types of awards available:
- Merit + Need-Based scholarships — perfect for those who excel academically and need a little extra financial boost. These scholarships are open to all full-time art students at the school. Read over scholarship requirements to ensure you qualify.
- Project + Experiential Learning scholarships — tailor-made for artists performing above and beyond in their area or focusing on a project in mind. These are nomination-based scholarships, decided on by faculty. Also suitable for students who want to experience new perspectives, learn how to navigate different cultures, and take their academics to a new environment. Open to those who are attending a study abroad program or internship.
To make the most informed decision, we encourage you to check out the details of each award before applying. Mark your calendars because the deadline to apply for the 2026-2027 academic year is March 20, 2026. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity!
