Prospective Students
Students interested in attending the Lamar Dodd School of Art must first apply to the University of Georgia via the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Once students are accepted to UGA, they can meet with an art advisor during orientation.

Students seeking admission to graduate programs at the School of Art must complete the online University of Georgia Graduate School application. As part of this process it will be necessary to upload degree-specific supporting materials

Graduate Admissions Deadlines

January 5th
Graduate applications to the MA, MFA, and PhD at the Lamar Dodd School of Art are due by January 5th

March 15
The M.A.Ed priority deadline is March 15 (applications received by this deadline will receive priority consideration).
The deadline for the Art Education Certification program is March 15.

April 15
Deadline for international applicants for our M.A.Ed program for Fall enrollment.

July 1st
Final deadline for domestic applicants for our M.A.Ed program.
Graduate Application Fees
- Applications must be accompanied by a $75 application processing fee.
- The fee for each additional application is $25.
- Application fees may be waived for those who are eligible through the University of Georgia Graduate School’s FUSE program.
Schedule a Visit - Undergraduate
Tours of our main building, located at 270 River Road, are held throughout the fall and spring semesters and are led by undergraduate students participating in our Dodd Ambassadors program.
Please reserve a spot on one of our tours through the request form listed below. Fall 2026 tour dates will be available in late August. If you are unable to make one of our regularly scheduled tours during your visit to UGA, we invite you to walk through our building at your leisure. Please review building hours above before planning your visit to the school.

Prospective graduate students are welcome to contact our Graduate Admissions Office at gradarts@uga.edu to discuss on-site visits and inquiries. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we are unable to offer tours of the facilities during admissions season (Nov. 15 – May 1).
