The Lamar Dodd School of Art offers ARST 4915/6915: Thematic Inquiry each semester.
Thematic Inquiry is designed for students to engage contemporary issues in the field of studio art practice while working across media. This studio class addresses a topical theme of inquiry such as sustainability, social politics, personal identity, science, or popular culture. Through research, students will become familiar with the contemporary issues of the theme and engage those themes within their studio work, while developing their portfolio through proposed project design, research, and implementation.
This fall students have the opportunity to choose between three compelling themes taught by Dodd faculty:
The Boundary Object
TR | 11:00 AM-1:45 PM
All Too Human: The Body as a Subject
MW | 3:30 PM-6:35 PM
The South
TR | 2:00 PM-4:45 PM
Visit the new Thematic Inquiries page to learn more about each theme being offered during the upcoming semester.
