The Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture series has brought over 80 distinguished guests to the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia since 2002. Visiting Artists and Scholars spend three days on campus interacting with students and faculty, the culmination of which is a public lecture on the subject of the artist’s or scholar’s work.

Shouky Shaheen Endowed Lecture

The Shouky Shaheen lecture is given annually by an internationally recognized artist or scholar at the Dodd. This lecture was established through the generosity of Doris Shaheen as a birthday gift to her husband, Shouky.

Jack Davis Distinguished Visiting Artist Lecture

The Lamar Dodd School of Art is a community of makers and scholars dedicated to pursuing advanced research in the fields of Art, Art History and Art Education. Several times each year, faculty share current research and work in progress with colleagues and students, affirming this shared sense of purpose. These lectures are open to the public.

Ann Orr Morris Memorial Lecture

The Ann Orr Morris Memorial Fund was established in 1988 by Martha Odum and the friends and family of Ann Orr Morris. Since then, the Ann Orr Morris Fund has enriched the jewelry and metalwork program of the Lamar Dodd School of Art with resources for annual lectures and workshops by nationally recognized leaders in the field of jewelry and metals.
